ESL
Being in a foreign place, with a foreign language is incredibly difficult. Many find everyday situations like banking, grocery shopping, and even going to church intimidating. For this reason, we are excited about launching our new ESL ministry here at WCCC.
Our hope is by offering free conversational english classes, we can bridge the gap between our church and the international community, building relationships that open the door for us to share the love of Christ, and building friendships that go beyond the church walls. After all Jesus said, " Go and make disciples of all nations...." , and here in Versailles, God has brought many different nations to our doorstep!
Classes will be held one night a week for an hour and will help students practice conversation skills, learn about the culture, and give them an opportunity to make new friends and socialize in a new language. We will hold occasional family ESL events, such as a movie night or cookout, to help students put their new skills into practice.
Do you enjoy teaching or explaining things to other people? We need teachers. All lessons will be guided by an English book and do not require teaching experience. We are also in need of teachers assistants who can role play conversations and give students more one-on-one attention. Other ways to get involved include helping with childcare, volunteering to bring snacks, or coming to build friendships at one of our ESL events. Remember, you don't need to know another language....you just need a willing heart and a smile.

Missions
Serve the City
The mission for Serve the City is to serve our community, spreading the love of Jesus throughout our city. Extraordinary things happen as a serving movement ripples throughout the community. People begin crossing denominational, socioeconomic, and racial lines to work together as one body, expressing Christ's love to the Kingdom.
Serve the City takes place two Saturdays a year, in which projects are organized to meet the needs of our community.
