Our wellness center will be so much more than just a new facility and building, it's a place where these girls can heal and grow, where they can play, and where they can "just be girls." The children we serve at Hope Hill deserve the best care possible, please help us provide it by supporting our "Breaking New Ground" campaign.
The Need
Built in 1960, the second floor of the Farris Building houses Hope Hill’s alternative school and counseling offices. Originally designed as an orphanage, bedrooms have been converted into our current classrooms. Rooms are overcrowded and lacking in storage. The environment would be less than ideal for your average classroom of students, and is even less ideal for our students, who already struggle with boundary issues, trust issues, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and ADHD. The girl’s we serve need an education facility conducive to learning, where they feel comfortable and engaged.
Studies continue to show that exercise has a positive effect trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression; so much so that most PTSD recovery programs include exercise in their treatment. Because the majority of our residents deal with trauma and other anxiety issues, regularly planned exercise is an essential activity in their program, and the new wellness center will allow year-round consistency for our girls.

Funding
For more than 10 years Hope Hill has been praying and saving money to contribute to something we strongly believe in. Being debt free, we are now able to reinvest in our facility, program, and children.
With an estimated project cost of $1.2 million, Hope Hill has committed to bearing a share of the cost and private gifts will be a vital resource for making up the difference.
