A mentor can help navigate a teen toward the life they were created to live!
We believe mentoring is so important to the success of the girls in our care. Just look at the statistics of children with mentors:
-
46% are less likely than their peers to start using illegal drugs
-
27% are less likely to start drinking
-
53% are less likely to skip school
Hope Hill's mentoring program pairs our girls in residential treatment with a healthy mentor, who will listen, guide and teach.
Qualities of a good mentor include:
-
Great listener
-
Realistic expectations
-
Follow though on conversations and promises
-
Confidentiality
-
Interested in youth
-
Availability.
